Fatal ATV accident in Cherokee County, Alabama

Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton confirmed to WEIS Radio this morning that an individual was fatally injured in an accident occurring in the Frog Mountain area off County Road 33 during the overnight hours.

At 1:52 am, Cherokee 9-1-1 was notified of the incident, in which a 22-year-old male riding a Polaris ATV crashed.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Jared Lane Hutcheson from Piedmont, was pronounced dead at the scene – he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Those responding to the scene included: Coroner Deaton – along with the Piedmont Rescue Squad, Spring Garden Fire Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
