18-year old facing sodomy charges

A Rome teenager is in the Floyd County Jail on charges from two separate incidents.

According to arrest warrants, Austin Gaige Barton of a Scarlett Lane address is accused of sodomizing a female on October 15 of last year.

The warrant lists the incident location as the College and Career Academy on Poe Avenue.

Barton is charged with aggravated sodomy in that incident.

He is also accused of selling stolen weed eaters at a location on 2nd Street in Shannon for $120 between March and April of this year.

Barton is additionally charged with theft by deception and two counts of exploitation of the elderly.
