Fatal Alabama wreck, more information released

Additional information has been released regarding a fatal accident Wednesday in Cherokee County, Alabama.
The wreck occurred on County Road 14.

18-year old Colby Jake Slayton, a junior at Spring Garden High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to information in the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, Slayton was traveling eastbound into the sunlight when his vehicle crashed into the rear of a trailer – which was parked in the roadway – after the driver of the 2007 International truck had stopped, preparing to offload a bulldozer.

A man is accused of shooting in the direction of a residence and another man is accused of having a stolen firearm.
