Report: Man snatched $1,500 from woman

A 43-year old Rome man was jailed Wednesday on a felony count of robbery.

According to the arrest warrant, Anthony Holtzclaw took $1,500 from a woman’s hand during a domestic altercation.

He even bit her to get her to let go of the cash before leaving the scene.

The incident occurred on Tuesday of this week at Holtzclaw’s residence on Blacks Bluff Road, according to the warrant.

Holtzclaw was also charged with simple battery.

 

Report: Man threated to kill mother's landlord

A 26-year old Rome man was arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal trespass and terroristic threats and acts following an incident at his residence on Whitehead Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Andrew Nathaniel Nunez broke a ceramic vase and a shave rack belonging to his mother.

He also allegedly threatened to kill his mother’s landlord.

 

Man charged with terroristic threats and acts

A 24-year old Rome man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to commit a violent act against a woman at a location on Long Meadow Drive.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Devion Tremaine Neal of a Branham Avenue address is a convicted felon and had a firearm in his possession.

He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a parole violation.

 

Two charged with felony shoplifting

Two women were arrested at the West Rome Walmart Wednesday on felony theft by shoplifting charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 27-year old Brittany Renee Monday of Maryville, Tennessee and 33-year old Alyssia Deantwanese Matthews of Birmingham, Alabama went into the store, selected items from the shelves and left without paying.

Monday is also charged with giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement and fugitive from justice.

The report states that she has an outstanding warrant in Alabama.

Matthews was additionally charged with criminal trespass.

 

Man charged with meth possession

A Rome man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday in the 1000 block of North 5th Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 42-year old Christopher Wayne Garrett of a Green Acre Road address was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

He is also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
