Man charged with aggravated assault

A 32-year old Rome man was jailed Thursday on felony counts of aggravated assault and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Jacob Daniel Grizzle of an Argon Drive address grabbed a woman by the throat in an attempt to strangle her, and keep her from leaving.

The victim was left with visible marks on the right side of her neck.

Grizzle also reportedly caused more than $500 in damage to the room of a motel on Martha Berry Highway.


Texas man facing felony bail jumping charge

A 33-year old Pasadena, Texas man is lodged in the Floyd County Jail on a felony bail jumping charge.

According to the arrest warrant, Luis Angel Jiminez-Garcia left the State of Georgia to avoid appearing in court on March 15.

He was also charged with failure to appear in court on charges of criminal trespass, battery, and obstruction of officers.
