Report: Police find 18 firearms, drugs in home of convicted felon

FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 64-year old Rome man was arrested at his Lakeview Drive home on drug and weapons charges early Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, deputies found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue on a coffee table in plain view while serving a warrant for another incident.

While clearing the residence, a total of six firearms were located.

After taking John Bartley Furr into custody, a baggie of meth was recovered from his pants.

After getting consent to search the residence, Hydrocodone pills and more meth were found inside a locked closet.

After the execution of a search warrant, 12 more firearms were recovered.

Furr is charged with possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Another man, 23-year old Tyler Mitchell Morgan of Piedmont, Alabama was arrested at the residence.

According to reports, Morgan has active warrants in the State of Alabama.

He is charged with being a fugitive from justice.
