Two arrested in murder of Cartersville man in Butts County

Authorities have released the names of two men accused of murdering a Cartersville man whose body was found in a subdivision in Jackson, Georgia Friday morning.

According to the Butts County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Alford Jacobs and Emmanuel James Nesbitt, both of Cartersville, were charged with murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of Curtis Author Pitts.

Pitts was found on Highway 36 Friday morning.

He had been shot multiple times.
