Man accused of making threat

A 22-year old Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail late Friday on a terroristic threats and acts charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Nicholus Daniel Mason of a Prior Station Road address raised his fist at another person and threatened to kill two people back on August 31.

The incident occurred at Booger Hollow Road and Highway 27 South, according to the report.


Man accused of stealing a motorcycle and burglary

A 30-year old Rome man was jailed Saturday on charges of 2nd-degree burglary, theft by taking a motor vehicle, felony theft by taking items from a motor vehicle and entering an automobile.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Nicklous Yvone Barnes of an East 1st Street address entered three outbuildings belonging to the victim on Lindsey Road and took two saws, a bag and several sets of keys.

Barnes allegedly entered a truck on the property, taking another set of keys.

Barnes also reportedly took a Honda motorcycle.

He was caught at Lindsey and Highway 27 North.

While being interviewed by police, Barnes repeatedly lowered himself to the ground and acted as a hazard to other motorists, according to the report.

He was additionally charged with being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol.


Report: Man falsified time sheets

A 21-year old Rome man is facing a felony theft by deception count following his arrest Saturday.

According to the arrest warrant, Frederick Montrell Askew of a Huffaker Road address turned in falsified time sheets to his employer although he knew that he was no longer reporting to work.

Askew received $3,256.50 in wages he did not legitimately earn, according to the warrant.
