This story is dedicated to our teacher/ principal at our small school. Our school is very unique. We do all of our lessons online, but we still have class 3 days a week. Our school is one of a kind just like the wonderful woman who runs it, Mrs. Jill Trout. My name is Kaitlyn. I'm an 18 yr. old and senior at Northside Christian Academy in Woodstock Ga. I started here my junior year. After a series of events taking place in my life, my mother and my father were both in jail. My father had already been incarcerated for over a year, and my mom went later because of a drug problem. A family friend took me in and told me about the school because his friend’s son graduated here. I had no interest in school when I was at this point; I was so hurt and mad that I failed miserably the end of sophomore year because I barely even showed up. I still wanted an education, so I met with Mrs. Trout and she has changed my life completely. I was a 16 year old, without knowing where to go who hated school and everyone. I am now an 18 year old with straight A's, a full time job and applying for college. This is due to the fact that Mrs. Trout was there for me. She gave me guidance and support. She lovingly encouraged me to try to do my best. Under her guidance, I have also gained a new family. Everyone at this school is a member of a special family, and we all love Mrs. Trout for making our lives better and helping us accomplish more than we ever could have without her. I could never thank this crazy brave woman enough for opening a school to give kids like me a second chance when no one else would.
